Hi @Cosmin Bretean ,
Thanks for the question. We are sure there will be other members who might have the same question. 🙂
Answer:
The minimum boat length of 3.2 meters is a quite a standard measure when it comes to different international tournaments. The main reason why 3.2 should be a minimum length is because NSFL competition includes 2 persons in the boat. Having a smaller boat than 3.2 meters or 11ft brings your own safety at the risk. Using these small boats creates really high risk in larger waters, especially if 2 people are on board. Stronger winds, high waves, small engine is a really bad combination with such a small boat.
In general - it is only for safety reasons. If you have a boat, that is smaller than 3.2 meters and you experienced that your boat is capable of handling stronger winds, waves you can alway send us an email support@sport-fiske.no , provide pictures and specifications of your boat and we can evaluate your case individually. If all criteria matches, we might give you permission to use that boat. However, we bear you to think about your own safety before you proceed with this decision.
Cheers!
Mvh,
NSFL Team
